TSA shifting security to part-timers
Thirteen thousand dollars a year is not a huge salary. But for part-time Transportation Security Administration officer Tom Vilardi, 55, the income helps give his three daughters a better life. Vilardi works the 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. shift five times a week at the airport. The job gives him a steady paycheck and the flexibility to attend to his party and event business. The gregarious New Yorker likes working the checkpoint at the international terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
