Yemeni tourist kidnappers jailed
A court in Yemen has sentenced a group of tribesmen to long sentences for kidnapping five Italian tourists in the eastern Marib region in January. Two men from the al-Zaidi clan were jailed for 20 years for the five-day abduction, which they staged to press for the release of jailed relatives. Another two men from the al-Amiri clan were sentenced to five and 10 years for abetting the kidnapping. Several foreigners have been abducted in Yemen by tribesman in recent years. Full Story
