Arabs sought Wednesday to downplay the significance of the election win by Israel’s centrist Kadima party but warned the Jewish state not to take unilateral action in its dealings with the Palestinians. Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s party picked up 28 seats in Tuesday’s vote for the Israeli parliament’s 120 seats. Officials in Olmert’s Kadima party said he should be able to cobble together a parliamentary majority to support his plan to pull out of much of the West Bank and draw Israel’s borders by 2010.
