ASIA: Terrorism remains a serious problem in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country, and will not be resolved with the arrest of one or two key leaders, senior police officials said on Wednesday. Indonesia, which has seen a string of bombings blamed on Islamic militants in recent years, has already arrested more than 270 people in relation to suspected terrorism involvement, national police senior commissioner Petrus Golose told a media briefing. But several important leaders remain at large, and the problem is compounded by the operation of individual cells whose members do not necessarily know about the activities of others, and further complicated by ideological and tactical splits.
