The death of a radio reporter wounded in a drive-by shooting in northwest Colombia has prompted renewed calls for more protection for journalists working in rural areas. Gustavo Rojas Gabalo, who was paralyzed when two people on a motorcycle shot him on Feb. 4, died Monday, his family said. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting in Monteria, about 310 miles northwest of Bogota, but investigators believe Gabalo was ordered killed after denouncing government corruption on his popular radio talk show.
