ASIA: A blockade of major highways imposed by communist rebels stranded travelers as it stalled traffic across Nepal on Wednesday, officials said. Kedar Sapkota, a police official at a checkpoint about 75 miles west of Katmandu, said only a few vehicles were seen on the Prithvi highway, which connects Katmandu with most parts of the country.
