Milosevic’s Trial Ends but Inquiries Continue

The court convened Tuesday for the last time in the war crimes trial of the former Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic. The court, said the presiding judge, Patrick Robinson, had been advised of the death of the accused. “His death,” he said, “terminates these proceedings.” But questions continue to surround the final days of the man who led three wars during the 1990’s and spent four years in a jail cell here, until his death on Saturday. What is known is that Mr. Milosevic’s body was removed Tuesday from a suburban forensic institute and taken to Schiphol Airport, outside Amsterdam. Full Story
