Iran’s president vowed to resist pressure from the U.N. Security Council to back down in his country’s confrontation with the West over its suspect nuclear program, declaring that “no power” can take away Iran’s nuclear technology. The five veto-wielding members of the council — the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France — have been weighing proposals to persuade Iran to resolve questions about its nuclear program.
