AFRICA: Liberia’s government on Monday denied it had requested the extradition from Nigeria of former Liberian President Charles Taylor, who is wanted for war crimes by an international court. “There was no letter on the extradition of Mr Taylor,” Liberian Information Minister Johnny McClain told reporters. Taylor has been living in exile in Nigeria since 2003 and earlier an aide said Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf had written a letter to her Nigerian counterpart Olusegun Obasanjo requesting Taylor’s extradition.
