Ex-JI leader ‘will deprogram Aussies’
ASIA: A FORMER Jemaah Islamiah (JI) leader used by Indonesia to “deprogram” terrorists in custody says he would be happy to come to Australia to help re-educate extremists. The Federal Government is examining the use of deprogramming after a suggestion from Australian Federal Police commissioner Mick Keelty. Mr Keelty studied anti-terrorism strategies in Indonesia, where Malaysian-born Nasir bin Abbas, a former JI operative, is used to help deprogram terrorists. Full Story
