Kazakhstan is drawing a new strategy of national security for the period until 2010, President Nursultan Nazarbayev told a meeting of the Security Council on Thursday. “The strategy /of national security/ should help Kazakhstan enter the group of the world’s 50 most competitive states,” Nazarbayev said. According to the presidential press service, the strategy takes into account the growing economic and political opportunities of Kazakhstan, and the prognoses of changes in the international, regional and domestic situations.
