A bomb in Karachi and assault on an al Qaeda-linked militant camp in northwest Pakistan have provided a bloody prelude to U.S. President George W. Bush’s visit to a country seen as crucial to his war on terrorism. For security reasons Bush’s arrival time in Islamabad is being kept secret, but according to Pakistani officials he is expected sometime Friday night or Saturday morning for talks with President Pervez Musharraf at the end of a tour of South Asia.
