Gunmen on a rampage left eight people dead and a dozen bystanders wounded on the outskirts of Guyana’s capital, police said Monday. Residents took cover under beds and fled inside homes as stray bullets flew Sunday night just outside Georgetown, capital of this South American nation on Venezuela’s eastern border. About 15 gunmen armed with rifles first tried to rob a gas station, police said.
