The European Union will suspend entry negotiations with Serbia if it does not fully cooperate with the U.N. war crimes tribunal seeking the arrest of war crimes suspect Gen. Ratko Mladic, the EU’S enlargement commissioner said Thursday. “It is important Serbia’s effort lead to full cooperation without delay,” Olli Rehn told a committee of the European Parliament. “It should lead to the arrest and transfer of (Gen. Ratko) Mladic.” Rehn is due to report Monday to EU foreign ministers who have powers to suspend negotiations on agreement designed to draw Serbia-Montenegro closer to the EU and prepare it for eventual membership — a key goal of the Serbian government.
