Yemen has rejected a U.S. request to interrogate detainees held after the escape of 23 al-Qaida prisoners, including a man convicted of involvement in the deadly bombing of the USS Cole, a security official said Tuesday. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press, said authorities rejected the request because it would have violated Yemen’s sovereignty.
