Afghanistan’s president will urge Pakistan to crack down on Taliban rebels based on its side of their mutual border when he visits Islamabad on Wednesday, the leader’s spokesman said. “A lot of action is being taken against al-Qaida in Pakistan. We want the same thing to happen to the Taliban who we believe are in Pakistan,” said Khaleeq Ahmed. He said there were 650 militant attacks last year in Afghan provinces bordering Pakistan and that “most of these were by people who came across from the other side of the border.” Full Story
