Police on Monday raided a Japanese precision instruments maker, reportedly on suspicion it illegally exported machinery that could be used in uranium enrichment, a key process in making a nuclear bomb. An official at Mitutoyo Corp., based outside Tokyo, confirmed the raid but refused to discuss the case, saying only that the company would cooperate with police.
