Malacca Strait attack would rock world economies
A maritime terrorist attack in the Malacca Strait could send economic shockwaves around the world even it was not a major strike, the commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet said on Wednesday. Admiral Gary Roughead said the risk of a terrorist attack in the strait shared by Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, one of the world’s busiest sea routes, continued to rise along with the increase in global shipping and continued piracy.
