ABC’s “World News Tonight” led its nightly broadcast with its own journalists in the news: Co-anchor Bob Woodruff and a cameraman had been seriously injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq. Woodruff and Doug Vogt both suffered head injuries, and Woodruff also suffered broken bones. They were in stable condition following surgery and were being evacuated to medical facilities in Germany, ABC News President David Westin said. “We take this as good news, but the next few days will be critical,” Westin said Sunday night.
