Northern Ireland power-sharing talks to resume next month
Talks aimed at restoring power-sharing bodies involving rival Protestant and Catholic politicians will resume February 6 in a “decisive year” for Northern Ireland, British Prime Minister Tony Blair said. “This year, 2006, is a very decisive year for Northern Ireland,” Blair said at a press conference in Dublin with his Irish counterpart Bertie Ahern. The two leaders issued a joint statement saying: “On 6 February talks will begin with the aim of setting out the arrangements and timetable for the restoration of the institutions.” Full Story
