The United States has vowed to do whatever it could to help Bangladesh overcome the threat of terrorism after a series of deadly blasts there linked to a banned Islamic group. “They said they are ready to help us in any areas we need. They appreciated and have given their moral support to our fight against the terrorists,” State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar said on Thursday after talks with visiting US assistant secretary of state Christina Rocca. Both countries had been exchanging “information” on those thought to be behind the bomb attacks and Washington had started giving specialised training to Bangladeshi counter-terrorism forces, Babar said.
