Interpol issued international wanted persons notices Thursday for Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s former prime minister, and her husband. The international police agency said it issued red notices for Bhutto — prime minister in the late 1980s and early 1990s — and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, at the request of Pakistan, where the two are wanted on corruption charges. Interpol said the notices are not international arrest warrants. Commenting on the notice, Pakistan’s President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, told CNN’s Richard Quest: “The government is not at all involved, it’s the national accountability bureau who is doing all this and looking into all the cases.” Full Story
