The Malacca Strait remained on a Lloyd’s committee’s list of areas where ships are at risk of terrorism or other perils despite initiatives by Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, a committee executive said in a report published Friday. “There have been huge improvements in the area with regard to the arrangements that are being made in terms of security, but it’s still very, very early days in terms of how long those arrangements have been in place,” Neil Smith, secretary of theLloyd’s Market Association’s Joint War Committee, told The Business Times.
