Over two dozens anti-government militias have laid down their arms and joined the administration-initiated peace process in Afghanistan’s southeast Paktia province, a Kabul-based private television channel reported Thursday. “Twenty seven militias loyal to Taliban and Gulbudin Hekmatyar-led Islamic party Hizb-e-Islami have laid down their arms and vowed to defend the government,” Tolo said in its noon bulletin.
