At least 21 Iraqis and a US soldier have died in one of the deadliest days of violence in the country since the election on 15 December. In the bloodiest incident, insurgents killed five policemen at a checkpoint near Baquba, losing six of their own fighters in the battle, police say. At least five bombs in the capital, one of them at a Shia funeral, left eight people dead, US and Iraqi sources said. Full Story
