Insurgents killed five Iraqi policemen and five soldiers in separate attacks north of Baghdad on Monday, the police and army said. Al Qaeda wing in Iraq claimed responsibility for a carefully-planned attack on a police checkpoint north of the Iraqi capital in which at least five police officers were killed and four wounded. Police said the attackers jumped out of a minibus in the early morning and began firing mortar rounds and rocket propelled grenades at the police checkpoint near a base for Interior Ministry commandos in Buhriz, about 60 km (37 miles) from Baghdad.Full Story
