Families of the four Christian aid workers being held in Iraq planned to plead for the hostages’ release Monday with an Arabic broadcast on Iraqi radio. The hostages include Canadians James Loney of Ontario and Harmeet Singh Sooden from Quebec, as well as an American and a Briton. There was no response to the families’ first appeal, which appeared on the weekend in Baghdad newspapers. The print and broadcast messages say the four are peaceful men who want to help Iraq and include a phone number to pass on any information on the captives. The kidnappers threatened to kill the four if detainees in American and Iraqi custody weren’t released by December 10th, but there has been no word on their fate since then.Full Story
