Syria’s deteriorating relations with the international community and Lebanon was the focus of discussions between Syrian President Bashar Assad and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in a meeting Tuesday. According to Egypt’s foreign minister, Assad flew to Cairo and immediately went into talks with Mubarak. After their talks, neither Assad nor Mubarak spoke to the media, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit said they “focused on the main regional issues related to the Mehlis investigation and the latest UN Security Council Resolution and how Syria dealt with it, as well as Syrian-Lebanese relations and how to advance them.” Full Story
