A group of technology companies released a national agenda for information security this week, rating the current U.S. government’s efforts in protecting data and the Internet with a below-average grade. In grading government initiatives in 2005, the Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA) gave Cs and Ds to ten government initiatives to secure the Internet, with a lone B for the nation’s progress in ratifying the Council of Europe’s Convention on Cyber Crime and in F for the Department of Defense’s failure to release data on the effectiveness of federal systems certification to the public.
