Crowds at Syria critic’s funeral
Thousands of people are taking part in the funeral in Beirut of anti-Syrian newspaper owner and MP Gibran Tueni, killed in a car bombing on Monday. Crowds of mourners – many waving the Lebanese flag – followed the coffin as it was carried slowly through the streets of the capital. A general strike called by anti-Syrian groups is under way in Beirut and other parts of the country. Many in Lebanon have blamed Syria for the killing – a charge Damascus denies. Full Story
