Amnesty International in France will present the Brazilian embassy in Paris on Wednesday with 52,000 signatures petitioning Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to “condemn torture in all its forms.” The NGO will ask the Brazilian chief of state to “use all his powers to oblige state governments to put an end to torture and mistreatment inflicted on suspects in custody,” the organization said Tuesday in a statement.
