Philippine security forces have told the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to stop recruiting and training Muslim separatist guerrillas because they are violations of a ceasefire accord, an army general said on Monday. The MILF, the largest of four Muslim rebel groups in the south which has been talking with the government since 2001 about a peace deal to end 40 years of conflict that killed more than 120,000 people, denied the assertion.
