The Bangladesh president has approved an ordinance that allows law enforcers to tap telephones, a measure set to aid the fight against Islamic militants, a spokesman said. The cabinet on December 6 amended a telecommunications law to make it easier for police to trace calls, particularly from mobile phones, and President Iazuddin Ahmed signed the law Sunday, the spokesman said.
