Mexican Presidential Race Tightens Up
Mexico City’s fiery leftist mayor captured the hearts of the poor and disenfranchised and became the man to beat in the early race for Mexico’s president. But three out of four polls released in the past two weeks show Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s two main competitors catching up. Voters still have seven months to choose between Lopez Obrador, Roberto Madrazo of the Institutional Revolutionary Party and Felipe Calderon of President Vicente Fox’s National Action Party. But the polls indicate Lopez Obrador could have a tough fight ahead. Full Story
