Satellite images could help determine if the CIA ran secret prisons in Europe, according to a Swiss lawmaker who is drawing up a report on the issue for the Council of Europe human rights watchdog. But the politician, Dick Marty, said it would be impossible for a facility resembling the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay to be secretly maintained in Europe for any length of time. “I don’t think this is possible and in this respect if the Romanian government tells me they haven’t had a Guantanamo Bay, I’ll believe it instantly,” he told reporters in Bucharest.Full Story
