Japan has asked Chile to allow its diplomats to visit Peru’s former President, Alberto Fujimori. He was arrested in Santiago on Sunday on arrival from his home in Tokyo and remains detained while awaiting a ruling on his extradition to Peru. Mr Fujimori, 67, is wanted there on charges of corruption and human rights abuse, but denies any wrongdoing. Full Story
