Britain said Monday that Iran’s support of terrorism was preventing political progress being made in the Middle East and insisted that the only thing that could force Tehran and Damascus to change was a stable and democratic Iraq. Iran faced pressure on a separate front with UN atomic watchdog chief Mohamed ElBaradei calling on the Islamic Republic to be more transparent about its actions to ease international fears that it is aiming to obtain a nuclear weapon.
