United Nations report accuses Ivory Coast of rebuilding air force

Ivory Coast’s government has been seeking to repair and rebuild its air force since an arms embargo was imposed by the United Nations last November, according to a confidential report by a UN investigative panel. The embargo was placed on Ivory Coast after the government broke a ceasefire by bombing the rebel-held north of the country a year ago, killing nine French peacekeepers in the process. French forces retaliated, destroying or damaging most of Ivory Coast’s military aircraft. Full Story
