Leftist groups in the Philippines have called for joint exercises between US and Philippines troops to be scrapped. The demands for an end to the US participation came after six marines were accused of raping a woman at a former US naval base earlier this week. About 30 students and women’s rights activists took to the streets of the capital Manila on Friday, waving placards that read “US troops out now”.
