75 Die in clashes between guerrillas and militias in Colombia

At least 75 people were killed in clashes between leftist FARC guerrillas and right-wing militiamen in Colombia’s Choco province, officials said Thursday. Ombudsman Victor Raul Mosquera told Caracol Radio that the fighting broke out early Thursday in the towns of Novita and San Jose del Palmar, some 600 kilometers (about 373 miles) west of Bogota.
