Bombs planted by suspected Taliban rebels killed a top policeman and a senior intelligence officer in the latest attacks against the authorities in Afghanistan, officials said today. The police director of southwestern Nimroz province and a guard were killed late yesterday when a remotely detonated car bomb tore through their vehicle as they were going to evening prayers, an interior ministry spokesman said.
