The alleged mastermind of Brazil’s biggest-ever bank robbery was tortured and killed by his kidnappers – believed by some to be police officers – shortly after his abduction earlier this month, and his body has been identified by relatives, local media reported Friday. The body of Luiz Fernando da Viana Salles was found in a rural area of the southeastern state of Minas Gerais on October 9, but was not positively identified until Thursday night, according to the reports.
