The fallout from the divisive war in Iraq continued for Prime Minister Tony Blair on Friday, as a former member of his Cabinet tried to limit the government’s power to send British troops to war. Currently the government can authorize military action without parliamentary approval. But launching a private bill in the House of Commons, Clare Short insisted lawmakers must be given veto power.
