Elections Officials Among 13 Dead in Iraq

Insurgents killed 13 people Wednesday, including three election officials tallying votes from Iraq’s constitutional referendum and an American and a British soldier, in widespread attacks that coincided with the start of Saddam Hussein’s trial, police said. A bomb also went off at a famous monument in a Baghdad square honoring the 8th-century founder of Baghdad to whom Saddam often compared himself.
