Commuters in New York faced a major delay Friday morning with the discovery of a suspicious package at Penn Station just a day after Federal officials warned of a possible threat to the city’s transit system. That same threat is prompting Bay Area Rapid Transit officials to declare an “Enhanced Orange Alert.” BART has been on “Orange Alert” since the London bus and subway bombings. Agency spokesman Linton Johnson tells KRON 4’s Michelle Kennedy there are no known threats of any kind against the Bay Area system.
