Berlusconi’s Gov’t Hurt by Resignation

Premier Silvio Berlusconi’s government suffered a serious blow Thursday as its respected economy minister resigned amid a standoff with the Bank of Italy chief, prompting the center-left opposition to call for early elections. Domenico Siniscalco resigned Wednesday night, the Economy Ministry said.
