European and Asian observers were to begin arriving in Indonesia’s Aceh province Tuesday ahead of a historic mission overseeing a pact to end a long-running separatist war in the province. Up to 160 monitors from the Aceh Monitoring Mission (AMM) would depart from Medan, the capital of North Sumatra province, AMM press officer Faye Belnis told AFP by telephone from Banda Aceh, the Acehnese capital.
