U.S. ambassador predicts good Afghan elections

Afghanistan’s September 18 elections are expected to go well and U.S., foreign and local forces are well-equipped to deal with any security hurdles, the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan said on Thursday. About 1,000 people, including 48 U.S. troops, have been killed in a surge of violence this year in Afghanistan, but U.S. Ambassador Ronald Neumann said he did not think security posed a great threat to the elections.Full Story
