Honduran authorities have discovered the body of a government official who had been kidnapped from his house the day before by a group of unidentified men. Jose Mario Garcia, 65, a lawyer by profession, had been head of human resources for the federal Transportation Department since 2001, and he ran unsuccessfully in February primaries to become a ruling National Party candidate for a congressional seat in November’s elections.
