Suspected Taliban insurgents have shot dead a government mapmaker and a merchant as the two walked through a city in southern Afghanistan. The gunmen, riding motorcycles, attacked the men on Thursday as they were walking home in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province. “The two were killed by armed Taliban on motorbikes,” provincial police director Amanullah Khan told AFP. “We have launched a search operation in the area to arrest the perpetrators.”Full Story
